What do I need to do when using Truakos for the first time?
Before first use, please fully charge the hearing aid for approximately one hour. On the charging case's touchscreen, select your preferred language and then follow the self-adjustment assistant to complete the hearing test and individual settings. The entire process takes 5 to 10 minutes. Afterward, the hearing aid will automatically optimize the sound output based on your hearing profile.
How long does the battery last?
Once charged, Truakos offers up to 12 hours of operating time, with a full charge taking only 2 hours. The charging case provides an additional 12 hours of use for all-day operation.
Do I need to go to a clinic for the adjustment?
No. Truakos has a self-adjusting function. You can perform the hearing test and device settings directly via the charging case.
How accurate is the self-adjustment?
The Truakos self-adjusting system is based on clinically proven pure-tone audiometry algorithms with an accuracy of over 95%. The process takes 5 to 10 minutes and covers important frequency ranges from 500 Hz to 8000 Hz. In cases of severe hearing loss or special circumstances, we recommend a fitting at a professional hearing center.
If my hearing ability is different in each ear, can I adjust the settings for each ear separately?
Absolutely. Truakos' self-adjusting feature allows for separate settings for each ear. You can adjust gain, frequency balance, and individual preferences for the left and right separately to accommodate different hearing needs.
Can I use Truakos hearing aids even if I have severe hearing loss?
Truakos is best suited for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. For severe hearing loss, we recommend consulting a hearing aid specialist for a personalized solution.
How can I switch between different audio scene modes?
Truakos features three built-in scene modes: Standard mode, Restaurant mode, and Noise Reduction mode. You can select the appropriate mode in the Environment Settings menu.
How good is the noise cancellation of Truakos?
Equipped with a proprietary intelligent speech analysis module and dynamic multi-band noise cancellation, Truakos achieves 98% noise reduction. In noisy environments like restaurants or subways, it effectively separates speech from background noise, allowing you to focus on conversations.
Can the hearing aids be connected via Bluetooth for listening to music or making phone calls?
Yes. Truakos supports Bluetooth 5.2 and connects directly to smartphones and tablets. Calls and music are streamed to the hearing aid. You can adjust the volume and equalizer to your liking. For initial pairing: Advanced settings > More settings, activate mobile phone connection. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone and select "TRUAKOS".
What causes the whistling sound from the hearing aid?
Whistling is usually caused by sound feedback. The cause is often an improperly fitting earplug with an insufficient seal. Sound escapes from the ear canal and is picked up again by the microphone, resulting in a loud whistling noise. Insert the earplug firmly into the ear canal, and the whistling will stop.
How does Truakos compare to prescription hearing aids?
Truakos was developed to compete with prescription hearing aids costing €1000. It offers the same performance and quality at a significantly lower price.
Is Truakos worth its price?
Yes. Compared to conventional, expensive hearing aids, Truakos offers clearer speech, better noise reduction, and touch controls at a more affordable price. It boasts excellent value for money and is a worthwhile long-term investment.
What are Truakos' warranty conditions?
Truakos offers a 1-year warranty on the entire device. Defects not caused by external factors will be repaired or replaced free of charge within the warranty period.
Do hearing aids need regular maintenance?
Regular cleaning every 3 months is recommended. Use the included cleaning brush to remove earwax and foreign objects to keep your hearing aid in optimal condition. For daily care, simply wipe the device with a microfiber cloth.
